DotZero is the trade name that is an established brand in the startup ecosystems of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.
DotZero was established when some like minded individuals in Karachi (Atif Azim, Farzal Dojki, Imran Moinuddin, Yusuf Jan) banded together and launched DotZero as Pakistan’s largest privately held co-working space in 2013. Half the space was reserved for students and early stage entrepreneurs who would pay subsidized service fee, and the other half was reserved for later stage startups (Careem, Securiti.ai, Predictify, PakWheels, Tripda, LinkedThings, Airlift, etc). This combination allows DotZero to run the space on a no-profit-no-loss basis.
DotZero then launched an incubator with the curriculum by Founder’s Institute in 2014, and launched an open-ended seed fund in 2015 by the name of DotZero Ventures.
The brand then launched in GCC in early 2017, hosted at Astrolabs in DMCC. This was a great time for us to set up a beach head in GCC, taking advantage of the brand recognition around when Careem was acquiring engineers from NextGENi and VentureDive as part of their series B.
